ROSSLAND, BC | Singing Saw Workshop

Learn to play the musical saw!

Known for its eerie, theramin-like sound, this instrument has been used in vaudeville performances and even liturgical services - all you need is a handsaw, bow/mallet, and a sense of curiosity!

This all-ages, hands-on workshop, run by Liv Cazzola of Tragedy Ann, will cover a brief history, basic form options, techniques, tools, pitch-finding, and if time allows, a bit of wacky sound design by running saws through pedals. Our hope is to spark a sense of wonder and playful delight.

If you have a saw/bow/mallet, please bring it along - we will have some on hand to share around as well.

To sign up, please email us at performance.rcac@gmail.com.
