From the recording Stumbling
(Cazzola & Phelan - 2016)
I couldn’t tie my laces,
Until September of the 7th grade.
Sometimes the simplest things escape me.
I couldn’t keep my patience,
And wait ‘till I was yours to take,
Sometimes I make it hard to love me.
But I’m stuck on you,
Just like those velcro shoes,
Just like those velcro shoes.
I ran from a fight and the girl I liked,
Back when I was 13.
Call me a pansy,
But I’ve still got all my teeth.
I done some things I don’t want to relive,
And I can’t forgive myself too soon,
But I’ll try for you,
And tie my shoes
